Running Low on $NAM for Gas? Try This!

Many Namada users have staked all their $NAM and face difficulties paying for gas to vote or claim rewards. Don’t worry — this guide shows you how to pay fees with other tokens like ATOM, TIA, or OSMO

We can pay gas fees with another token! Here’s how:

1. Go to the website https://namadillo.net

2. Connect your Namada Keychain (your wallet) Click “Approve” Now, let’s send the token to our Namada Transparent address (starts with tnam...)

Let’s send the token via IBC Transfer:

3. On the left, select the IBC Transfer section.

4. Click Connect Wallet and then Connect

5. Confirm the connection in your wallet .Let’s keep going!

6. Choose a network:@celestia,@cosmos,@osmosiszone

7. Then select a token: $TIA, $ATOM, $OSMO

8. Switch to Transparent to select your address (tnam...).

Pick the network and token for gas fees

For example, I chose the #Cosmos network with #ATOM

9. Specify the amount of tokens (I’m using 0.2 $ATOM).

10. Click “Submit”

11. Click “Approve” in your wallet .

12. Wait for the success notification

Great!Now your Namada Transparent address has tokens for gas fees.

Now let’s claim our staking rewards!

13. On the left, select the Staking section.

14. Click “Claim”

15. In the window, choose: Claim & Stake All or Claim All.

Pick what you need!

Now let’s select a token for gas fees:

16. Click on token selection (default is $NAM). In the Fee Options window:

17. Choose the transaction priority (default of “Average”)

18. Select the token for payment (I chose $ATOM).

19. Click “Close” Let’s keep going!

All that’s left is to confirm the transaction:

20. Ensure the selected token is $ATOM and the amount is correct.

21. Click “Claim” and “Approve” in your Namada Keychain.

22. Wait for the transaction confirmation

Done! We’ve successfully claimed our staking rewards

Congrats! We’ve paid for the transaction using another token. You can use the same method for voting transactions.
