# Useful Commands

Everyday Dora Mainnet service, wallet and validator commands.

**Mainnet · `vota-ash` · dorad**

Commands match the [Installation](/mainnet/dora/installation.md) guide: service `dorad`, home `$HOME/.dora`, key `wallet` and local RPC `http://127.0.0.1:26657`. Replace uppercase placeholders before running a command.

Amounts use `peaka`: **1 DORA = 1000000000000000000 peaka**. Transaction commands estimate gas and ask for confirmation.

## Service operations

### Start the node

Start the systemd service.

```bash
sudo systemctl start dorad
```

### Stop the node

Stop the service cleanly.

```bash
sudo systemctl stop dorad
```

### Restart the node

Restart after an approved configuration change.

```bash
sudo systemctl restart dorad
```

### Service status

Show whether the node is active.

```bash
sudo systemctl status dorad --no-pager -l
```

### Follow logs

Stream logs. Ctrl+C exits the view.

sudo journalctl -u dorad -f -o cat
```

### Check version

Read the installed application release and commit.

```bash
dorad version --long
```

### Check synchronization

Verify network, latest block and catching\_up.

### Count connected peers

Show the local P2P peer count.

### Show node ID

Read your public P2P identity.

## Key management

Store wallet recovery words privately. Use the restore command only for a wallet you own, and enter the phrase interactively.

### Create a wallet

Create the encrypted wallet key.

```bash
dorad keys add wallet --keyring-backend file --home "$HOME/.dora"
```

### Restore a wallet

Recover an existing key from its mnemonic.

```bash
dorad keys add wallet --recover --keyring-backend file --home "$HOME/.dora"
```

### List keys

List locally stored public key information.

```bash
dorad keys list --keyring-backend file --home "$HOME/.dora"
```

### Show account address

Read the address used for balances and transfers.

```bash
dorad keys show wallet -a --keyring-backend file --home "$HOME/.dora"
```

### Show validator address

Read the operator address used for staking queries.

```bash
dorad keys show wallet --bech val -a --keyring-backend file --home "$HOME/.dora"
```

## Tokens

### Check balance

Query token balances in base units.

```bash
dorad query bank balances "$(dorad keys show wallet -a --keyring-backend file --home "$HOME/.dora")" --node http://127.0.0.1:26657 --output json

### Send tokens

Replace RECIPIENT and AMOUNTpeaka. Verify the recipient and amount before confirming.

### Delegate

Replace VALIDATOR\_ADDRESS with a valoper address and set the amount.

### Withdraw rewards

Withdraw delegation rewards from the selected validator.

dorad tx distribution withdraw-rewards VALIDATOR_ADDRESS --from wallet --keyring-backend file --home "$HOME/.dora" --chain-id vota-ash --node http://127.0.0.1:26657 --gas auto --gas-adjustment 1.5 --gas-prices 100000000000peaka

### Redelegate

Move a delegation between validators, subject to network redelegation rules.

### Unbond tokens

Begin the unbonding period; tokens are not immediately spendable.

### Check a transaction

Wait for inclusion, then inspect the result before repeating a transfer.

## Validator operations

Use [Validator](/mainnet/dora/validator.md) for initial registration. Investigate the reason for jailing before attempting to unjail.

### Validator status

Read staking status and jailed state.

### Consensus public key

Read the public key; do not expose priv\_validator\_key.json.

### Signing information

List slashing/signing records and find your consensus address.

```

### Withdraw commission and rewards

Withdraw for your own validator operator address.

### Edit validator details

Replace the example display name; change only the fields you intend.

### Unjail

Run only after fixing downtime and meeting the chain's unjailing conditions. Tombstoned validators cannot be unjailed.

### Check staking parameters

Read validator limits, denomination and the unbonding time.

### Check the upgrade plan

Read a scheduled plan before changing the binary.
